Walk through my week...

Hi everyone!

It was a really great week. Like a REALLY great week. I'm super excited about all the things that are happening here right now. I'm going to do the picture-walk-through-my-week again. Here we go...

Tuesday was a big day for us because we hit 22,222 miles on our car. I'm not sure why this was so exciting but it totally was.

It was also an exciting day because we taught Antonia and she decided she wants to get baptized! We were talking about the Holy Ghost and she said, "You know, I really want that." So right now we're shooting for August 15thShe is amazing and seriously one of the most genuinely good people I know.  We are really excited for her.

Do you know that Oregon is pretty much the PERFECT place to grow anything and everything? Seriously, EVERYTHING grows in Oregon. We also had interviews with President on Wednesday so, obviously, it was a pretty spectacular day for us. Always a really sweet experience. I love him so much.

Apparently, dishWASHING liquid and dishWASHER liquid are not the same thing. We found this out the hard way on Thursday. This same day we were able to teach Filemon, our investigator and Lydia's husband, for the first time. We taught him about the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The spirit was so strong. We could feel it and we could tell that he was feeling it. It doesn't get better than that.

Friday, we had a Branch camp out and dinner. Apparently, camping out is not the Branch members' thing because the turnout was much less than expected. We had gone to every single one of our investigators' houses beforehand to invite them and not a single one came. Kind of a let down but it is what it is.

Do you remember Gustavo's chickens? Every Saturday we go teach Gustavo his recent convert lessons. Since he's going on a mission so soon and we have so much training to do from the 12 weeks book for Hermana Stevens, we've been doing his lesson out of there the past two weeks and it's been awesome. But this past Saturday, we found out that his chickens legitimately play soccer. I have a video too. This day was also great because we went to Sharis! It's this little Oregon diner and it's awesome. Our dinner appointment cancelled and gave us money to go out so that's where we chose to go. Here's a picture of our date:

But the best part of the whole day was going to see Marcelino! We met him on the street a few weeks ago and it turns out he's our Ward Mission Leader's uncle! He was being taught by Elders a few years ago but had to go back to Mexico suddenly and they lost contact with him. We went to see him and talked to him about the restoration and the Holy Ghost and he decided that he wants to get baptized as soon as possible. This brings us to Sunday...

For the first time ever, Marcelinho came to church on Sunday. Him and Hermano Alba hadn't seen each other in 10 years. After Sacrament Meeting, they embraced and cried together. It was probably one of the sweetest moments in my whole mission to see that. We were told after church that Marcelinho bore his testimony in Priesthood Meeting. How incredible is that?

After church, we got to attend Judith's baptism:

So that was basically our week. It was amazing. We are so blessed!

I love you all!

Love,

Hermana Meise
